Last week, you had the opportunity to draft a bill and follow it through the process of becoming law.  For this week's Google Group, consider this:

If the House of Representatives were abolished and the Senate was left as our only lawmaking body, would our government be less democratic?

Be sure to explain your answer with details.

Yes it would be less Democratic, Because if it passed threw senate and the president veto's it.. It can still be passed by the Senate.

Yes it would because there would not be as many people in the law making process!

I don't think it would because I don't think we need two processes to make laws its too much.

I kinda agree with Ashlee it shouldn't take two parts of the house to pass a law.

Without the House of Representatives our government wouldn't accomplish the fundamentals of democracy because smaller states would be treated the same as larger states some areas of states wouldn't be represented, and there would be no Congressional body to check the Senate.

Yes, because it would be a one way pass through congress. if it was to be vetoed by the president it would just go back to the senate and they like the bill they can keep on passing it as many times till it passes which means it can be an ongoing process

I think it would be less Democratic because as you said in class yesterday the house is now Democrats and the Senate is Republican if we no longer had the house to consider and pass laws it would be less Democratic
