Good day all,

Today, I bring news that will make many of you sad, some of you angry, and others lost. I know this because I have felt all of these.

Today I received news from our permit issuer with the TDSB that we must stop all baseball/softball related activities under our permit at Western Tech. There has been a complaint lodged against us from the dreaded dog people. The complaint was two-fold. 1. We are playing too early, our permit starts at 7pm not 6pm. 2. Balls are dangerously flying over the fence. These complaints made the permit lady aware that we are playing baseball/softball and not the soccer that our permit allows us to. She reminded me that we are not insured for this activity and stressed that we must stop all softball activities immediately or can/will be held personally liable. Damn the dog people.

After conferring with members of the CARP HOF, I have decided the best course of action is to change fields for the remainder of this year and then search for a new home beginning 2021.

Having said that, I will not go quietly. I have lodged my own complaint with The City of Toronto about aggressive dogs not wearing leashes in an area explicitly marked no dogs. I might have mentioned being bit as well, that really got their attention. If you feel like you would also like to lodge a complaint, feel free to call 311. So, we will start anew, wander like the Israelites...hopefully not for as long...but we will survive.

The game tomorrow will be at Westlake Memorial Park off Weston Rd. We played there a couple years ago. There is parking adjacent to the park. I will be there 630ish and Douggie as well with the bags.

Dear Comish and flock of  wondering Carpenites,

There is a beautiful very well groomed diamond behind Weston Arena used for softball on a permit basis that is mostly empty these days. It even has lights!!! I'm not sure about permit possibilities but could be worth looking into as some slots may have opened up. Toronto parks and rec venue.
