Public Hearings will be held beginning at 7 pm on January 23, 2025, at the Caroline Town Hall and by Zoom teleconference for 1) two Minor Subdivisions, 2) Site Plan, and 3) Special Use Permit for the 076 Community Solar Project proposal by Distributed Sun, LLC.
Caroline – O76 Solar I LLC (“CO76”), an affiliate of Distributed Sun, LLC (“DSUN”), is proposing to develop, construct and operate four solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities in the Town of Caroline (the “Town”) along Seventy Six Road, aka County Route 115. CO76 will build three 5MWac arrays and one 2.5MWac array in the Town, co-located on adjacent tax parcels 30.-1-3, 30.-1-2.2, and 30.-1-1.1 (together, the “PV Arrays”).
CO76 will invest development capital, develop, construct the proposed PV Arrays and supply the electricity generated to electricity customers for the Community Distributed Generation (“CDG”) regulation enabled by the NYS Public Service Commission (the “PSC”). The four solar PV facilities will be installed and connected to the Utility grid designed for a 30-year useful life. These facilities will include racking equipment, solar panels, electrical conversion equipment, equipment pads, gravel access paths, and security fence. The land will be planted with a pollinator-friendly grass mix, and due to the tracking system, approximately two-thirds of the fenced area will remain uncovered by solar arrays. The facility is designed to deliver metered electricity to the Utility, and the activities at the project site will be focused on this task.
