The IMA Carolinas Council Kinsey Jenkins Service Award is given to a person who has demonstrated the characteristics of the servant-leader.
“The servant-leader transcends self-interest to serve the needs of others, help others to grow and succeed, and to provide opportunities to lead and organize success. The servant-leader provides information, offers advice and assistance, and recognizes and rewards success.”
The award is named in honor of Kinsey Jenkins who epitomized this definition of servant leader. Kinsey Jenkins served IMA in many different areas during his 28-year membership. He has been a volunteer leader in the Columbia Chapter and the Carolinas Council, and a professional leader in the IMA National organization. Kinsey came to be known as the “go to” person that you could depend on to answer any questions and help in any way that he could to serve the chapters and council volunteer leadership.
