2018 South Carolina State Fiddling Championship Winners Announced
The twenty-second annual State Fiddlers Convention was held Saturday at the Hagood Mill Historic Site in upper Pickens County. Taking first place in the featured 2018 South Carolina State Fiddling Championship was Sara Gilbert from Weaverville NC. She received $500.00 and the first place trophy for this category. Second place winner in the Senior Fiddle category was Haakon Oyen from Asheville NC. Haakon received $300.00 and the second place trophy. Josh Johnson from Pickens SC took the third place honors of $200 and the third place trophy.
In addition to the South Carolina Fiddling Championship, the enthusiastic audience enjoyed hearing musicians compete in eight additional categories. The following are the winners from each competition.
