What's a good day to set up a play date? Does anyone know where

I'm not sure which park is closest that isn't affiliated with a school. Maybe we could try the square with the rectangular grassy area and the fountain? I don't know how fun it is for a bunch of kids but I could bring a ball.
Other suggestions welcome . Where do your kids usually play in the area?
