I've recently purchased this property and I'm interested in its
history - so far I've been able to trace owners of the house in 1891
and 1901 (Joseph Littlewood and family), and wondered if anyone had
any other information on the house (photographs in particular)

Many Thanks!

Lucky you ,

wish I had seen it was on the market. My family lived there and I grew up there , I am 64 now so from about 3 years I would say, so that would be 1960. I loved it there it was idyllic , there were only 3 houses on the lane back then and a farm at the very end of the lane . I revisited last year to see how it had changed . When we lived there , there was no back garden to speak of but a pigsty and mountains of nettles . the front garden was very steep and grassed and I have happy memories washing my white rocking horse in the sun. there was a wall on the boundary of the property which to me seemed very high and I remember , even back then hiding behind the wall as pigs were taken to the farm probably for slaughter as they screamed . I cannot remember much of the interior as it was all outdoors play, I lucky enough to have two boys either side of the cottage of similar age  we all played together . when did you purchase it ? sorry to say I don’t have any photos , must people didn’t have a camera then . If I can be of further assistance please ask   .

kind regards

Sally Crawley – nee Blessington , my parents were Hugh and Ann
