I am having some discussion with a relative regarding Carlton Hall,  Can you confirm that it was demolished after the war please?

Regards,

Hi Ken

I have lived in Carlton all my life, so I can confirm that Carlton Hall was standing well after the war.  Our local booklet says 1959, and I wouldn't argue with that. Quote ' During the war the Hall was used by the Army Tank Corps and German and italian prisoners were kept there. It was demolished in 1959.'
This is recorded in a booklet  - 60 pages- called 'Carlton of Yesteryear' published by Yvonne Jones. There were still copies availalable to purchase at the library recently when I checked. Mail me if you would like the phone no.
                                                                                                    Regards
                                                                                                          Mike Mills
