Dear Mrs Desiree Osunsina,

Thank you for your email of April 8,2016 informing Residents of your plan to change the Source of Power Supply to the estate from EKDC to an IEDN.This is laudable in itself and I commend your initiative.

However,I am not too sure to what extent you have carried Residents along with regard to the terms and conditions of the proposal.To the best of my understanding,this has not been discussed at any of the Association's meetings.Residents need to know the long term implications of what the Management Company want to commit us to.This was how we hurriedly signed up with 4T on vending and provision of independent power and they rubbished all of us because the powers that be would not listen to voices of reasoning,who happened to be in the minority.We cannot afford to follow this trajectory again and this soon.

What are the terms; who are you signing on; what alternatives have you considered;which Estates are you benchmarking;how has VGC and NAICON TOWN- contemporary estates in this corridor sorted out their power issues; why do you want to follow the least course of resistance on this power matter;Are Residents no longer stake holders in this estate?I could go on and on.Please let us do things the right and professional way in the interest of peace and tranquility.Otherwise,there could be far reaching consequences and backlashes. And we do not want any of these.

The issue of power is as old as this estate ,in spite of what has gone into it,which is not what I wish to delve into now.To get it right,you must carry Residents along and not lord it over them.We are in the black out that we are in today because of the I don't care attitude of all of us-the Management Company,the Association and the Residents themselves.Other Estates are not suffering what we are suffering.Your Lekki County Estates are by far better than us,yet Carlton Came on stream much earlier.

To summarize,I am saying you have done  well to have thought of an alternative power Supply;I am also saying tarry awhile before you commit us to something,the details of which we are not aware of ,and nobody has discussed with Residents at a village meeting.Going around to ask people to answer whether or not they want alternative power is not a civilized  way to do things.It is as barbaric as it was insulting.

We need to discuss,we need to follow due process and we need to do due diligence judging from the experiences we have had in the past as a body.We had been beaten not once,not twice,not thrice and you should expect to by shy.
