David, thanks for bringing this to the fore

I saw the mail, but I forgot to respond as you just did now. Very good gesture by the new team and the management company. 

Absolutely, the Residents should be well informed of the proposed alternate power and carried along fully. ‎We need the buy-in of residents in such a proposal. 

Please let the management company/exco brief resident at the next general meeting before we go further on this good gesture

We appreciate your good intentions.

This is a good initiative and well intended for the benefits of us all. Well-done to the New Exco. However, given our past experience with 4T, i would advice that the proposal should be discussed in the general house by the management company before progress is made on it.

It's becoming clear where this is heading: we're going to KILL this new 24-hour power initiative with DUE DILIGENCE once again, just like we did with the last one.

It may be that our interests are not the same. I guess someone who has just invested a couple of millions on a new generator, or some other private alternative power supply, or has other circumstances which don't lend themselves to investing on an alternative power supply; may not have any immediate incentive to switch to a joint alternative power supply right away.

What we should do is to make this new push for alternative power as flexible as possible. Anyone who wants to wait on the wings to see if it will work or not, should be able to do so, while those who are fully FED UP with the current diesel and inverter situation and want to switch right away, should also be able to do so.

Agreed. Management company [and our elected Exco if necessary] must take the latitude to wrap things up already and present a fait accompli. Otherwise analysis paralysis is the certain outcome as every detail is flogged left, right and center at the village square. We surely stand to achieve more from debating the price of fish for Carlton Gate residents given our proximity to the lagoon and the Ocean.
