My Dear Families and Friends,
I greet you all.
We all know It's about time we re looked our approach to better life in this 'beautiful' estate!!

All is certainly not well and has never been. We have all lived in hope that some improvement is coming but from where I see things, we are not trending right. It may and is getting worse...

Few issues of grave concern!!

a. Residents have been repeatedly attacked by armed gangs .. The one of last month involved over 3 houses and infact, one of the residents was exposed to harm. Anything could have happened ... But God keeps winning!!
b. The power situation is pathetic .. Supplies from Eko Disco remains unreliable and will remain so for a while. Our effort to develop own supply has been a 'round robin' and never ending tales upon tales!! Imagine what the generator emissions including noise is doing and will do to our health.. I'm worried...
c. The environment is and will continue to deteriorate... Still looks fairly ok but just imagine what our dear estate will look like in 2025 if we continue to let things roll on this way.
Can I ask that you fetch the tap water in a white bowl and leave it still for one week ... What you see ? Hmmmmmm!!!

I can go on and on!!! But you all know is not well and if we continue the current reactive and repeatedly- failed approach, we will see no improvement and its our investments being demeaned..   Dear families and friends!!

We sure need a new approach; we need to make a move to stop this slide... We can and should live better than we are currently doing.

Can we  think and step up and do some thing about this and right now?  I don't mean another agenda item at the monthly meetings...
Not exactly sure what, but something has to give.
But the approach has to be different.

Let's do something and fast TOO!!

My view.

Good morning,

Thank you Chidi.

Honestly, we keep going round in circles after seven years since i moved into Carlton Gate as regards Power Issue(s).

Yearly, we have three or more complaints as regards the Power Issue: RMU failure /Feeder Pillar(s)/Line drop off etc etc etc.

Please, are we the only Estate in Lagos???

But the truth must be told: if we keep having these perennial problems and other Estates close-by are enjoying power, then, we need to look inward.

My conclusion is that the problem is more in-house as regards the management of the Infrastructure.

Do we continue in this manner for another 7-8 yrs.... i believe we need a change????

We honestly deserve better!!! Enough is Enough!!!

What has worked in Friends Colony; Northern Foreshore; Abiola Gardens; Nicon Town that CANNOT work in Carlton????

Just my thought!

The water is also terrible. I ask the executives to catch a sample of that water and take it to a reliable lab for analysis. You will discover that the water they call 'potable' is anything but potable.

It will likely fail many of the WHO standards and specifications for potable water.
