Roll Call MAHAR to PEI, Canada

Another Meagher/Maher/Mahar, this one to Canada in the 1830’s.

 

Earliest I’ve found is a grave marker in Prince Edward Island indicating an Edward Mahar Sr., of Queens Co., died 1875 aged 85.  Happy to share what I have if you see a possible link.

 

Reading local town histories led me to believe he was from Fermoy, but Jane has written that it was probably meant to say Fermoyle.

 

Would really like to be able to visit the geographical area he was from if it could be more closely determined.

Always good to hear of another in the haystack, and with an Edward and Jim too. Your Edward could be my Patrick's father's age. Any idea why he went to Canada?
I'd like to visit Ireland again too, even just the loose cluster of towns amid the three counties, journeying the wobbly oval. Knowing
it was somewhere in and around there. That may be enough. (Open to the parting of the Red Seas, though...)
