Most times on lists when there is a Roll Call it really ends up just
being people posting in their interests, sometimes an odd someone or
other may make a connection and they write to the list or the person
off list. Sometimes nobody gets a reply.

So, I'm going to give this a day or two and maybe some of that
connecting will begin, but, after the day or two I'll begin writing
replies to the various posts. I'll begin with the ones which I can
definitely say something about or ask questions as to have you checked
this or that resource.

Once I've done that, then I'll tell you about whatever I know of that
I think might be worth checking out that is online. Now, for some of
you, this is going to be old stuff, the kind of thing you've already
done, know is there, know how to use, but, don't forget there will be
others who don't know about these resources, who mightn't even think
of using them because they don't fit the proper time frame.

It would be nice if there was more than just me making these replies.
You see, I only get to use resources here in Dublin and then I do a
bit of the online research but I am absolutely no expert in online
research. I wouldn't have a clue what to do if I walked into a family
history library, so, when I talk about something that I know is online
or I know is available here in Dublin, if there are any people who are
familiar with research through Family History Libraries then maybe you
could tell us about your experiences

That way other people will learn

Nealy ten o'c on a nice enough Bank Holiday Monday here and I stayed
awake too late last night, the keyboard on my laptop is all mucked up,
think one of my cats reset it somehow and I'm using a wireless
keyboard to type, can't see my screen too well - so I'm sure ye will
all forgive my typos, please and thanks.

Also, as I go through the posts made for the Roll Call, I'm going to
change the subject line to include the surnames, that way it'll look
like there are new threads starting on the list and make those posts
easier for anyone who views this list to find in future - hope ye
understand what I mean - but you'll get it once I begin

Hi,

Searching for:

William ENGLISH B 1802 Either Kilkenny or Tipperary CO., IRE
D 1829 Nepean, ON., CAN

M:

Catharine WALLACE B Unk Kilkenny CO., IRE
D 1829 Nepean, ON., CAN.

Catharine's brother Edward WALLACE & family were still in Kilkenny CO., as
William's petition to Canada "twice" was refused to bring Edward's family to
Canada.

I have tons of research accomplished for both Canada & the U.S., but need
help in Kilkenny CO., research. I am disabled & only do on-line research
now, as you do. While I've done research for 20 years I keep hitting brick
walls in Ireland.

Due to them both dying in 1829 there is no family Bible or "anything" to
help matters.

Any help/advice would be immensely appreciated. I only have one other name,
(the gentleman in Ireland) that vouched for William's reputation.

Many Thanks,
Dixie Lee English
