On Tap has moved...... From the corner of Rideau/Dalhousie to York street.
Come check out the bar in it's new location. It's now located where Spodee
Odee's was located............

This was the saddest weekend of my life. I loved On Tap. It was a classic
Ottawa establishment, and will always hold a place in my heart. Perhaps we
could all get together and contribute the money that was owed, and
convince the management to move back home to the corner of Rideau and
Dalhousie. If not then I'll just have to remember Wednesday February 21,
1996 as the last time that I had a good time in an Ottawa bar. Oh, and I
got really pissed. How fitting!!

And likely as not it's put the Pit out of business. Anyone have news
about that one?

The story in Frank magazine was great. I thought the gut who owned the
Globe was the smae gut who owned the Elgin Street Diner. Are they all the
same or what?

I think Ottawa can afford to lose one of it's many homogenous Dance Music/
Beer Monster establishments. In fact it could stand to lose two.

OnTap was great!! I plan to come back as an old man to show people where
some great times were had. They moved to avoid the huge lease
(28000/month) and found a place where it was cheaper to operate (Spodie's
place is only 9000/month). But the inside is total OnTap as they brought
all the decorations over and redesigned the place. If a new bar comes to
the Rideau/Dalhousie location, I might go to check it out, but it won't be
the same.

Hoist a beer in memory of a stellar establishment.

No. We don't want Ottawa to lose too many dance bars, because then the
dance music people would go to the cool bars.

I'm sure there will be many great times to come at On Tap's new
location--but Stef, We'll have to find our way up to the roof first!!!
