Harcourt has finally resigned

Mike Harcourt finally resigned yesterday due to the corruption in the
misuse of chrity funds. It is about time, as Mike Harcourt has been a
disgrace as premier of British Columbia since taking power in September
1991, and should have resigned in 92 when the Charlottetown Accord was
rejected with a 63% in BC. Looks like Svend Robinson knew exactly what he
was doing in quitting after the first ballot, as who would want to lead a
forever dead political party on the federal level, which is finsihed in
all the provinces except Saskatchewan?

Seems like they all profited from their misdealings while being in office
which should mean that the money that they made should have been returned to
the province. Correct me if I'm wrong but they all kept their so called
winnings.

Nice try Claude, but a little too slippery even for the INet crowd. Mike
Harcourt derived no personal benefit from the NCHS affair at all. The
man who may have derived personal benefits retired from politics after
his defeat in 1993, and is under criminal investigation.
The reason no public enquiry is being held is to keep the criminal
investigation/prosecution route on track.
