HelloFernando,
my dell optiplex 9030 AIO motherboard has 1 slot for m.2 2242. I installed m.2 2242 nvme 2242 into this slot and it is recognized in windows disk manager, I can store the data on it. However, the original bios does not support booting from nvme ssd, I want to modify the bios by adding the NvmExpressDxE module as you described above. The problem is that I cannot extract me current bios (using AFUWIN64), and the bios exe file downloaded from dell cannot be converted to rom file also. Could you please help me to make the bios rom file for dell optiplex 9030 aio?

when i extract dell bios .exe of xps 13 laptop found mismatch bios region 5568 kb only while it should be 6144 kb according to old bios backup.
i tried all .exe package of this model which are available on oem website but problem are same.
so i decide to make new bios with 5568 kb bios region via fitc .
i made it simply with new me region & 5568 kb bios region without any error.
now drag made fresh bios to me analyzer it seems okay.
i flash it to spi eeprom but get no display.
i analyze my old bios region & extrected bios region here are difference only i see that fitc added 589824 byte FF offset to make bios region 6144kb.
its the problem.bcoz bios rgn should be same as old bios.
i tried to replace bios rgn with uefi tool but its gives me error bcoz size was mismatch.
IS this problem of DELL BIOS EXTRACTOR script or something other problem.
i am uploading here old bios dump(working) with pic of laptop service tag.
what are the possibility to solve this type dell bios.
thankyou

I try to run this file then I get the bin but that file had no full bios I mean csme and bios region both mix in the file. I get bios region but am not able to get csme file
I am a bit puzzled. Is the laptop still under warranty?
You can update the BIOS from within the BIOS with a USB stick or from within Windows. There is guidance given here: -en/document/c00042629 The BIOS should only be obtained from the HP site. You can use HPs process to get the correct BIOS but in any event you need to ensure that you have the right one for that particular laptop or else you will end up destroying the laptop.
You can download the most recent BIOS update for that unit from
www.hp.com , regardless if the unit is not under warranty, just input the serial number of the unit to get the proper available downloads.
No i can not, it doesnt boot and my problem is not downloading a bios from hp but the format of the bios if you extract the bios from hp you will see another exe and not the format that i need to do the recovery pen
I have seen that someone manually created a recovery USB stick as described here: Solved: [ SOLVED ] Can not update Bios Probook 640 G2 - HP Support Community - 5683292 by creating 3 folders: EFI/HP/BIOS/New; EFI/HP/BIOS/Previous; Hewlett-Packard/BIOS/New but whether that works in your case is totally unknown.
So to diagnose if i have hardware problem i need to try the recovery with the pen but need the bin file, trying to get extractors like LBE but it needs to be compilled i think, but i dont konw how, if i dont get the file ill have to learn how to compile LBE so that i can extract or convert to the file format i need.
There are organisations that work on open source BIOSes and these work well with Chromebooks. They also have success with motherboards and some laptops which are more difficult because of the battery, etc. See for instance status report for coreboot boards
If you want to continue trying to open up the manufacturers exe files then Puppy Linux has a very good programme to do this called Uextract which will attempt to open up a vast range of files. See: UExtract-4.11 - A Universal/Utter/Ultimate/Uhatever Extractor - Puppy Linux Discussion Forum However, even that will probably not do what you want.
