Onceyour dog has mastered 'sit', it's time to teach them to lie down. This is a useful thing to get your dog to do when you want them to settle on the floor, either at home or when you're out and about.

Hi,

V5 (inc layer bug)

Is there a command I can apply to a number of solids to drop them down to have their bases touch Cplane.

I want to break down my model into separate parts and sit them all on the same base plane for 3D printing, minimising the Z height for the build.

Hello Helvetosaur,

I just came across this thread and although the align bottom to zero tool is useful, is there an equivelant script to align the top of objects to zero? Or can you help me to modify the AlignBottomToZero.py file?

Just came across this thread and this answer by @jeremy5. Does this work for objects with different Z values? When I select multiple objects that have different Z values, there is now only the option for a Z delta.

In both Excel and Google Sheets it is possilbe to do [Ctrl] [Arrow key] to jump to the last filled non-blank row or column in series of rows/columns which allows quick navigation around a spreadsheet. I am a frequest user of these keyboard shortcuts in both Execl and Google Sheets.

The closest I have found to this in the smartsheet documentation are the following keyboard shortcuts. It appears that [Ctrl] + [Up Arrow} and [Ctrl] + [Left Arrow} are equivalent to [Ctrl] + [Home], and [Ctrl] + [Down Arrow} and [Ctrl] + [Right Arrow} are equivalent as [Ctrl] + [End]. I have not figured out an equivalent for the row navigation [Home] and [End] keyboard shortcuts.

If you're looking for a comprehensive list of keyboard shortcuts to use in Smartsheet, please take a look a the "Keyboard Shortcuts" article in the Smartsheet Help Center. (It has recently been updated.)

Please submit your feature request to the Product team by creating an Idea Post in the Smartsheet Product Feedback and Ideas topic here in the Community. This will allow other users to vote on your enhancement idea!

Thanks everyone! These are a big help. Playing a bit, I have found that [Fn] + Down arrow and [Fn] + Up arrow enable page down and page up on the Mac, which is helpful. I still wish there was a quick way to go to the last row ( [Ctrl] + [Down arrow]) in GSheets and Excel), but this has gotten me part of the way there. Thanks again, Stan

Stan, have you tried CMD + arrow down? This will bring you to the last row in your sheet. Your cursor will be on the far right cell but you can then press fn + arrow left to bring your cursor to the first column.

Hi Travis - Yes, the keyboard combo you describe works to get to the last row. Thanks. If you work for smartsheet, I would make a feature request to mirror the [Ctrl] + [Arrow] features of Google Sheets and Excel. With those two being two of the most dominate spreadsheet applications, having similar keyboard shortcuts will help with adoption by new users, especially power users who are often the influencers when it comes product choices within a company. I am happy to make the feature request myself if that will yield better results, just tell me the best way to submit a feature request. Thanks again, Stan

Stan - are you referring to Macs or PCs? From your post, it sounded like you were asking about Macs. I am using a Mac and just tested in both Excel and Google Sheets and CMD + down arrow brings you to the last row and CMD + up arrow brings you to the top row. If you are on a PC then you would use CTRL instead of CMD in Excel, Google Sheets, and Smartsheet. When using Macs and PCs, keyboard shortcuts anywhere (not just in Smartsheet) are typically the same, you would just use CMD for Mac and CTRL for PCs. This is done on the OS level. Does this help?

Yes, Mac and, right, CMD, not Ctrl. Sorry about that. There is a subtlety in Excel that does not exist in smartsheet which is that there is no way to go to jump to the last non-empty cell in a continuous set of cells in a column or row. Use CMD-arrow keys in the following Excel file and you will see that it jumps to the next non-empty cell, not all the way to the top or bottom of the sheet. That's what I am talking about when I am mentioning the feature request.

I opened a support ticket, but I can't close this pop-up no matter what I click or what browser I use and I'm wondering if anyone has any insight. I'm LOCKED OUT of my work because of some stupid UI refresh alert. ?

I have searched the manual. I have tried searching the forum but I can't find out how this is used in FB. It's been years since I played CM, so my apologizes for asking what may be a really simple question.

Issuing a Hull Down command is a two-step process. The first step is plotting the movement. Using the Hull Down Command you plot a movement path usually a short distance past where you want to be hull down because you have to be able to trace direct line of sight from the end of the movement line to wherever you want to be hull down to. That lets you do the second step which is clicking on the waypoint at the end of the movement line and Targeting (or Target Briefly, doesn't matter) the spot you want to be hull down to, same as if you were plotting area fire but in this context the tank won't shoot, it's just how you tell the game where you want to be hull down relative to. The tank will then stop moving when it is hull down to that spot or it reaches the end of the movement line, whichever comes first, but if you do it correctly it should almost always stop prior to the end. But if you don't Target from the endpoint the tank will treat the Hull Down movement command like a normal movement order and drive the full distance every time.

2) if gunner vision is obstructed when you reach your hull-down position (bushes, fences, foliage, etc) the vehicle will just keep going until it finds another hull-down position or it reaches the destination point.

3) its dangerous to do in mid-battle. A moving vehicle has lower situational awareness and is easier to be spotted than a stationary vehicle. The enemy will spot you moving into position and try to hit you. If, on the other hand, you get into position and await the oncoming enemy you'll get the first shots off and return fire is likely to impact the ground in front of you.

I don't recall using the target command to better orient a hull down position. IIRC one simply clicked "Hulldown". It didn't work well. Never used it. Some folks here seem to like the CM2 hulldown system a lot better. Us old-timers are used to doing it by eye. Hopefully, BF didn't use many resources to include it as a feature.
