Password changes will be required upon initial log-in to the HMIS, which must be within 48 hours of the user account being set up. Passwords must be changed every 90 days, though users may repeat previously used passwords. All passwords must be between 8 and 12 characters (letters and numbers only) and contain at least 1 number. Case counts for all letters in a password. After 10 failed attempts at logging in, users will be locked out for 10 minutes.

All users are required to sign in at least once in a 30 day period. If a log-in is dormant for more than 30 days, it will be removed by CRHMIS staff. Once revoked, a user may only have privileges re-instated when a supervisor e-mails the CRHMIS team from an agency account, authorizing the reinstatement of the staff and stating which programs that user may have access to within the agency.
