Hi All-

The message below has been sent in Foothold to all STEHP users in the CARES Regional Database but I am also sending out to the Google Group to pass along.  I’m not sure how often users check their messages and wanted to make sure this gets to all this week.  If you could pass this e-mail on to those who enter in your STEHP program I would greatly appreciate.

Thanks for your help with this.

Beginning Tuesday, November 12, 2013 you see a change in the programs in your STEHP programs.  Due to reporting requirements we have to break out Prevention and Rapid Rehousing.

When you are looking for your STEHP program you will now see 2 programs:

(your program name) STEHP Prevention (this is simply a re-naming of your current STEHP program)

(your program name) STHEP Rapid Rehousing (this is a brand new program that new Rehousing consumers will go in. We will move current and former Rehousing consumers into it for you based on housing status at intake.)

If it very important going forward those doing data entry select the correct program for the services provided.  DO NOT reassign current consumers; we will be doing this for you on the back end over the next couple of weeks.  Please see the definitions for each program below:

Prevention

This designation is for those clients who have a residence but need assistance in keeping that residence.  i.e. back rent, utility bill, etc.  Under the Housing Status these individuals would be designated as Imminently Losing Their Housing & Unstably Housed.

Rapid Rehousing

This designation is for those clients who DO NOT have housing and are Literally Homeless.  To use the Rapid Rehousing designation a client MUST have been given financial assistance in obtaining permanent housing.  Do not enter the client who is looking for housing but is having difficulty in obtaining housing.  The appropriate time to enter the client is when the client has found housing and your program has disbursed the funds.

We realize there are many clients who have already been entered into the STEHP program you are presently using.  We, on the back end, are going to break out those clients according the housing status.  Those with the housing status Imminently losing their housing or Unstably housed will be in Prevention.  Those with the housing status literally homeless will be in Rapid Rehousing.

As you go along if you have any question, please feel free to contact me.
