The Schultz EvoGenome Lab at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA, USA) is recruiting
a PhD student for Fall 2027, through the Department of Biological Sciences.
I'm looking for a motivated student excited about comparative genomics at
chromosome scale and genome evolution across the tree of life, with a focus on
animals and their close relatives. The lab spans genome assembly, computational
analysis, and (for the curious) molecular/cell biology and marine fieldwork.
Students develop their own dissertation projects that dovetail with these
themes.
Ideal candidates would have: programming/bioinformatics experience, wet-lab
molecular/cell biology, microscopy, or interest in cruise-based fieldwork.
Admitted PhD students receive a competitive 12-month stipend, normally for the
duration of the program.
