Dear Students and Mentors,

This is a friendly reminder to submit your abstract for the Student Talk Competition or Poster Session at the University of Maine Blue Economy Career Summit, taking place April 2, 2026 at the Wells Conference Center in Orono.

This is an opportunity to share your research, projects, internships, or innovations connected to Maine’s marine and coastal economy while connecting with employers and professionals working across the blue economy.

Student Talk Competition

Selected finalists will present their work at the Summit and compete for awards.

Graduate Competition
🥇 1st Place – $1,000
🥈 2nd Place – $500
🥉 3rd Place – $250

Undergraduate Competition
🥇 1st Place – $500
🥈 2nd Place – $250
🥉 3rd Place – $150

📊 Student Poster Session

Students are also encouraged to submit abstracts for the poster session, which will provide an opportunity to present research, applied projects, internships, or innovations and discuss your work with attendees during networking sessions. Posters are not part of the competition, but they are an excellent way to share your work and connect with potential employers and collaborators.
