Celebrating GIS Day!

GIS Day is November 16th!

GIS Day is an annual celebration in the geospatial community. The ASPRS Student Advisory Council invites you to join us on this special day for our Student Member Map Contest, taking place at 3:00 PM Eastern in a live webinar. See instructions below to register.

  • Everyone who attends the webinar will receive a free one-year premium subscription to Esri’s ArcGIS StoryMaps!
  • Everyone who attends the webinar will have a chance to vote for their favorite map in a live poll.


ASPRS Student Members are invited to submit a map to the contest! See instructions below to enter. Deadline for submission is Sunday, November 13, 11:59 PM Eastern.

 

  • One map can be submitted per Student Map Author
  • Each map should be submitted by a single ASPRS Student Member author.
  • All maps will be showcased during the live webinar.
  • Winners will be chosen by a live poll of all attendees.
  • Prizes will be awarded to authors of the five maps receiving the highest

number of votes in the live poll.

○Prize winners will receive a free one-year ArcGIS for Personal Use

license.

○Prize winners will receive a free copy of the ASPRS publication,

Landsat’s Enduring Legacy shipped to a domestic US address.

○Prize winning maps will be displayed in the ASPRS Poster Gallery

at Geo Week 2023.

 

How to attend the virtual GIS Day event:

  • ASPRS membership is not required to attend.
  • Register HERE. You will need a MyASPRS login, which you can create during registration if you do not already have one. ASPRS members should login with their ASPRS username and password.


How to enter the Map Contest:

  •  You must be an ASPRS Student Member to enter.
  •  Register for the event as an attendee by clicking the link above.
  • All ASPRS Student Members who register to attend will receive an email confirmation containing a link to upload a submission to Dropbox. Please follow the detailed instructions for file naming and formatting provided in the confirmation.
