Good morning. I was hoping you could forward the below information to undergraduate students at your school who have an interest in the veterinary field. At the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine we are offering a few exciting online undergraduate courses in the upcoming Fall semester that are specifically geared towards students interested in Veterinary Medicine. Students at other Colleges and Universities can sign up for these classes.
For the Fall term, classes at the University of Florida run from August 20th -December 2nd. *Note that we would be willing to shift back the start date of the classes for you, if Fall classes at your home Institution start at a later time.
The Dog Class (VME-3001) is an online undergraduate course (3 credits) specifically designed for undergraduate students interested in learning more about dogs, especially those planning careers in Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technical Programs. Students will be introduced to a number of topics, including evolution, domestication, anatomy, biology, role in society, physiology, behavior, and health of the dog. The Cat Class
(VME-3002) is an online undergraduate course (3 credits) specifically designed for undergraduate students planning careers in Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technical Programs. Students that successfully complete the class will learn about number
of topics, including anatomy, neuroscience, urology, endocrinology, reproduction, various feline medical case studies, shelter medicine, and health of the cat.

The Horse Course (VME-4906) is an online undergraduate course (3 credits) for upper level undergraduate students, post-baccalaureate students, or graduate students that is designed for
students planning careers in large animal Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Technical Programs. This course covers many important topics in the domesticated horse field including reproduction, anatomy, the musculoskeletal system, GI physiology, preventative

Aquatic Animal Conservation Issues Class
(VME-4012) is an online undergraduate course (3 credits) designed to introduce students (upper level undergraduate and graduate) and professionals (with an AA or higher degree) to the controversial issues surrounding aquatic animal species
ranging from invertebrates to marine mammals, with an emphasis on marine mammals, but also including sea turtles, fisheries, and marine ecosystems. Students enrolled at any College or University can take this course.
*This class is also available at the graduate level (VME-6010) and can be included in a graduate certificate. Students need to have a bachelor’s degree to sign up for the graduate version of this class. *For

Aquatic Wildlife Health Issues (VME-4013) is an online undergraduate course (3 credits) designed to introduce students (upper level undergraduate and graduate) and professionals (with an AA or higher degree) to the natural history, anatomy, physiology, behavior and common health issues of aquatic species: whales and dolphins, seals and sea lions, manatees, sea turtles, crocodilians, fish and invertebrates. **This class is also available at the graduate level (VME-6011) and can be included in a graduate certificate.
