Dear colleagues,
The Social and Economic Analysis Branch of the US Geological Survey in Fort Collins, CO, is hiring two social science research assistants to start June or July 2021 (see attached job descriptions).
We are looking for one full-time BA/BS (or possibly MA/MS) level candidate with experience doing social science research. This would be an ideal opportunity if you have students who might eventually be thinking about graduate school and/or with an interest in federal service. The research assistant will have the chance to interact with a range of scholars and federal agency managers while contributing to applied social science research about Earth observations (user and valuation studies and / or gender studies).
For the second, we are looking for a MA/PhD level candidate with experience collecting and analyzing qualitative data. This position would ideally be closer to full time during the summer with flexibility to extend part time into the school year and would focus on making decision support tools usable for emergency managers planning for post-fire debris flows.
Please pass this announcement along to any of your current students or recent graduates who might be interested.
Thanks in advance for your help in publicizing this position.
Best,
Katie Clifford & Crista Straub (cst...@usgs.gov)
