Application Open! Island Institute Fellows Program | | Dear Tora, It is that time of year again! We are recruiting for the next cohort of Island Institute Fellows. As friends and partners of Island Institute, would you help us get the word out?
Entering a milestone 25th year, Island Institute’s Fellows program places associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degree graduates (within the last 5 years) in Maine’s coastal and year-round island communities for two years to assist with a community-supported project that could benefit from an extra set of hands.
This immersive experience - in island or remote coastal life - connects Fellows with community members and allows them to identify needs and opportunities related to their project. Fellowships offer recent graduates a unique opportunity to apply their skills and gain experience in building sustainability within communities facing significant challenges to their way of life and identity.
Check out some examples of the Fellow's work and placements, such as working on home and business-based energy transitions in Brooklin and digitizing and archiving historical artifacts on Swan’s Island. | |
| | Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested! Applications are due March 17, 2024. | | |
Join us for an online information session. These sessions are open to anyone interested in applying and will provide an overview of the Fellowship and application process, plus time to ask staff and current Fellows questions. Please register in advance. | | | | | Please reach out with any questions about the Fellowship. Thank you for helping
us connect recent graduates with vital and engaging opportunities in our island and coastal communities.
Best,
