The Maine Geospatial Institute is seeking your students to fill high-value, paid internships in the state of Maine. 

$18 an hour Up to 30 hours a week 10 weeks this summer*  Top employers ready to provide exceptional workforce experiences

Employers include Maine government agencies, non-profit organizations, and more. Students can gain invaluable experience and workforce connections as they conduct community-based field work/data collection, mapping, analysis, and reporting, among other skilled tasks. 

We critically need your assistance to get the word out to help match GIS/data science students with opportunities! 

Here is a sampling of the opportunities; more are being developed and will be posted soon.

Outdoor recreation mapping or off-road vehicle trail mapping with Maine’s Bureau of Parks & Lands

Field monitoring/map creation for rockweed harvesting in Cobscook Bay with the Maine Rockweed Coalition

Rural water mapping with the Sunrise County Economic Council/New England Environmental Finance Center

Utilities fieldwork and mapping with the Portland Water District

And more!
