Would there be any value to my putting together and doing what would really be analogous to a CareerCamp "sales" presentation to Worksource and other groups. My thinking is it would be dedicated to explaining what CareerCamp is and how it can help each group's clientle

I think we have all seen the need to "sell" CareerCamp more and give people a better idea of what it is. This would also give us a few minutes to show off some of the scholarly work on unconferences, etc.

Based on your experience with our sponsor/partner "market", would people find time for something like this? Is the unconference ideas something that these other groups could make use of (and therefore have value to them)?

Thinking early on a Friday morning...

Up early on a Friday morning--though not THAT early (smile).

While I see the value of selling it, I'm not so sure this particular group would make the time. I thought the mini idea was the better way to sell--to actually see the unconference in action. It's early, so the brain cells are not percolating as they should, but if we could find a way to do the unconference concept, but make the focus something that would draw them in? I'll have lots of time sitting in a car, so I'll jot down concepts when they come.

You're on the right track, though.

I think it would be great to have an historical piece so that we can secure a venue and get the buy in from academics to help us host the program. Explaining the unconference v planned speaking event.

Then I believe a piece to sell the program to sponsors is a great idea. Maybe two. One for cash grants? One for in-kind donations? or will a combined piece suffice?

Then another piece to show at the beginning of the event so participants can see history and feel the buzz from the start. And another for the end to summarize the day and give folks follow up ideas.

These can be vids or slide shows with a bit of narration or a script to follow when delivering in person.

Mitch

PS I have a lot of photos I took, but I can't get them onto my computer because my SD card reader doesn't read 16 GB size cards. Have to get another reader. Then I can add to our resource bin for these projects.
