Not sure if any of you are familiar with the Ignite/PechaKucha presentation evenings, but I was thinking about perhaps trying to organize a career-focused evening of these 5-6 minute talks.
The basics of these presentations are...
Each speaker can use 20 slides which automatically change every 15 seconds (PechaKucha uses 20 secs). This results in a very tight 5-6 minute talk. Afterwards, speakers can mingle with the audience to discuss their topics further.
In most cases, the speakers apply to participate and their topics are reviewed by a volunteer committee as there are typically more talks submitted than fit within the given time frame.
