As a web developer, I pay close attention to the design of video games. From the HUD in Overwatch to the catch screen in Pokemon Go to hunting in Oregon Trail, games often have interesting mechanics and satisfying interactions, many of which inspire my own coding games at Codepip.

Beyond that, implementing small slices of these game designs on a web stack is a fun, effective way to broaden your skills. By focusing on a specific element, your time is spent working on an interesting part without having to build out a whole game with everything that entails. And even in this limited scope, you often get exposed to new technologies and techniques that push on the boundaries of your dev knowledge.

Next, I copied the jitter animation of the text in the original. Game developers often add subtle animations to breath life into an element, like making a background drift or a character, well, breathe. To achieve the jitter, I defined a CSS animation:

Given how standardized the web has become in look and feel, this approach of pulling an element from a game and implementing it for the web is a good way to break out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Take this Among Us card swipe. In a small, simple demo, I tinkered with web fonts and animations in CSS. I monkeyed with input events and audio in JavaScript. I dabbled with an unconventional visual style.

I am having an issue getting the names from the assigned and assigned to columns from GRID VIEW to automatically populate into the swim lanes when switched to CARD VIEW. Currently, I have to manually edit the lanes and add the names. My manager said that when she switches to card view from grid view, the names automatically are added as she adds new people and assignments to the grid view of the project plan. Does anyone have any advice on where I should begin to find help find a solution?

CARD VIEW - The names I added (Heather and Darla), and there is a resource (Wanda) that is NOT on the GRID VIEW list but is showing up in CARD VIEW. I deleted Wanda from the Grid View but I will have to go in and manually edit the lane and delete her from the Values box.

I opened a support ticket, but I can't close this pop-up no matter what I click or what browser I use and I'm wondering if anyone has any insight. I'm LOCKED OUT of my work because of some stupid UI refresh alert. ?

I have a card for filled positions and it was working all fine. All of a sudden after updating Dec yesterday, the order of the months changed to a random order. I tried sorting the month, but it still did not correct. Any help is much appreciated.

To clarify, the issue is that you're having is that your beast mode is always returning NULL now as the MONTH function returns a number 1-12 based on the month. MONTHNAME returns the name of the month. Instead of using a case statement to attempt to compare the value to the month names just use MONTH(`Offer Accepted`)

I have built a dashboard with about 8 cards on it. I have a filter card that I just want to have it affect only 2 cards. However, when I go to Interaction Settings and try and change it to only apply to selected cards, the option is greyed out. See screenshot below. I have been able to do this before, so I'm unsure as to why it isn't working for this dashboard.

Affinity Diagramming - this is done with a group which you have to present your guiding question and people will write their opinions on information on sticky and paste on the whiteboard or wall, then collect all ideas you ask that group make the set of the ideas which make more sense to them.

Card sorting is an activity that a UX researcher will facilitate with users and knowledge experts, as a way to capture what they know about a field. The results then shape the organization of a website or taxonomy, and will inform the nomenclature used in the design.

Affinity is largely used for organizing research, issues, ideas, etc. with the real purpose of getting teams branstorming and synthesizng information to determine major themes, develop common understanding, determine priority, etc. It's about the group discussion and understanding.

Card sort is typically a user research method that helps a usability professional better understand what information they see as related, why, and what they call their groups to build a better organization and navigation. It can be done by one user or a group of them.

With all that being said, I have actually used a card sorting tool to facilitate a large remote subject matter expert group discussion to group (code) qualitative survey responses. Very interesting process that wasn't quite a card sort and didnt follow the true affinity process.

I'm trying to help my client upload a video file as an attachment to a card so that they're able to play the video in the card without having to copy/paste the URL on their web browser. They tell me that they're able to play Youtube clips in a card, but I can't imagine that's the only accepted native video player that works in Trello.

The XHG1 is a miniDV tape based camcorder. There isn't an option to record movies to an SD card. This is why the camcorder is telling you it's in card position and not able to record. Switch to tape mode in order to record movies.

I connected the Component cable and audio to a Component to HDMI converter. Then I took the output of that and connected it to an HDMI to USB capture device. Using an OTG (USB A to USB C) adapter, I plugged that into my Android mobile phone and using a USB Camera App I was able to record the output of the camera to my cell phone. Then transfer the file to my desktop for editing. You can also plug the USB capture device into a laptop (or desktop) if you wish. Hope that helps

That sounds like a lot of work. Canon has some great camcorders that will record straight to an SD card. The image quality would be greatly improved also. Each conversion or transfer looses one generation of quality.

It would be very useful to be able to control the width of the fields and which fields are shown (like with kanban cards). This affects sharing a grid view with the card layout turned on, how linked records display in the full record view, and in the interface view.
