Dear SELSA Members,
We will be holding elections for next year’s Executive Board and Committee Chairs beginning March 28th, 2011. Please see below for the available positions along with a description of the corresponding responsibilities. If you would like to run for any of the positions, please send an email to Cardoz...@gmail.com with your name, your class year (1L or 2L), the position you are interested in, and a short 50-100 word “campaign pitch” describing why you would be suitable for the position, no later than Monday, March 25, 2011 at 5 PM. Please pass this opportunity along to anyone you think may be interested even if they are not a current member.
President: Working with the school and SBA to create an operating
budget, creating events, managing e-board and chairs. Managing
events, coordinating with speakers, controlling the overall direction
of the group. Advisor to at least one chair.
Vice President: Assists the President with implementing all
programming throughout the year and managing the rest of the E-board
and Committee Chairs. Advisor to at least one chair.
Secretary: Takes minutes of meetings. Creates flyers and posters.
Creates "blurbs" to be sent out for events. Maintains SELSA member
lists and contact Rolodex. Coordinates marketing materials (school
calendar, student calender, sba calendar, etc.) and catering with
school (office of special events). Advisor to at least one chair.
Treasurer: Assist the President to create a budget. Manage funds and
serve as the direct liaison with the SBA treasurer. Advisor to at
least one chair.
Committee chairs: Under the guidance of the E-board will help w/all
events (i.e. reaching out to contacts, setting up events, marketing,
etc.) Manage brown bag lunches for his/her particular Committee.
Send weekly emails about their committee topic on current issues in
that particular field.

To Summarize, the Election Schedule will be as follows: Nominations submitted by 5 PM on Friday, March 25, 2011.
Elections from 12PM (Noon), March 28, through 6 PM, Friday, April 1.
