Jared Bloch: I previously worked at the Endeavor Talent Agency (now William Morris Endeavor) in LA for two years. At Endeavor, I was the assistant to the former president of ICM Nancy Josephson. Nancy represented a variety of clients (Tyra Banks, Rosie O'Donnell, Paramore), so I was involved with everything from scripted TV to America's Next Top Model, to Late Night with Craig Ferguson. After Endeavor, I worked as an assistant to the Academy Award winning producer Scott Rudin. While working for Scott, I worked on films such as The Social Network, The Reader and Revolutionary Road amongst others, and had blackberries thrown at my head on more than one occasion. Once I left Scott Rudin Productions, I worked as an associate talent manager at Principal Entertainment for two years where I was the day-to-day person for clients like Alan Arkin and Ty Burrell (Modern Family). I think my industry knowledge, the ability to bring interesting speakers through my acquired contacts, and my previous leadership experiences enable me to take charge and coordinate situations with lots of different players.
Michelle Foody: My name is Michelle Foody, I am a 1L and am committed to leading and serving SELSA as Vice President. By way of a brief introduction, I’m a graduate of Tufts University and I spent four years between college and Cardozo living in Los Angeles. While there, I worked as a freelance entertainment & lifestyle journalist, covering film, television and fashion, amongst other topics. Having researched and interviewed countless writers, producers, actors and directors, as well as developed a network of industry friends and contacts, I have a real-world connection to, and experience within, the industry. I hope to offer speakers and events that appeal to those, like myself, interested in pursuing a career in entertainment law in Los Angeles
This summer I plan on interning at NBC Universal in LA, under the Senior Vice President of Business Affairs. I’ll return to serve SELSA with a summer of invaluable first-hand experience in entertainment law. Aside from all this, I’m a hard worker, very personable, and approachable.
Craig Salm: One of the best things about SELSA is it keeps students updated on all current events regarding sports and entertainment law. As an avid follower of the legal and business aspects of the film and tv industries I will continue this tradition by finding the most important and interesting issues and share them with SELSA members.
This summer I also will be working in the entertainment industry and hope to meet individuals that I can bring to Cardozo to discuss their careers and available channels for students who seek access the entertainment industry.
Jennifer Solar: My passion is sports law and I have experience working with both sports corporations and sports agents. I'm extremely excited to bring notable events and speakers to Cardozo; and I regularly follow all issues in sports, and look forward to being able to share these happenings with everyone.
I was also Vice President of the Sports Business Society at the University of Maryland and know what it takes to successfully contribute to a student organization, and ensure it is the best it can be so that students can get the most out of their experience in it.
Courtney Sohn: I believe I'd make an ideal candidate because I have a passion for fashion and superb leadership skills. I have worked in the fashion industry, planning and holding events for fashion shoe companies. I have also written articles on up and coming fashion designers and entrepreneurs for DailyCandy Inc. I intend to utilize my background, and also my leadership skills to better serve the organization by planning lunches, events, and meetings. I am excited for the opportunity!
