Good afternoon NLG members,

We have two fascinating events next week that we hope you can join us for! Please see the attached flyers for further information.

Fireside Chat with Professor Yankah: On Monday at 12:15 p.m. in Room 303 we will be co-hosting Fireside Chat with Professor Yankah along with Cardozo Students for Human Rights. The chat will consist of a brief moderated discussion relating to the current state of criminal law followed by a longer Q&A session with the audience. Please bring your thoughts and questions, and enjoy what’s sure to be a riveting conversation over falafel lunch!

Moot of Upcoming Argument in the Second Circuit: On Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Room 206, come observe a moot for the upcoming case of Edrei v. City of New York. The Center for Rights and Justice along with NLG will be hosting judges and practitioners to simulate the appellate argument that attorneys Gideon Oliver and Elena Cohen, both former NLG presidents, will be making before the Second Circuit. The case involves the use by NYPD of Long Range Acoustic Devices (aka Sound Cannons) against activists at a Black Lives Matter demonstration, including our very own Keegan Stephan. This is a unique opportunity to see the masters at work in their element and to ask them about the process during the Q&A that will follow! Light food and refreshments will be served.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you Monday and Tuesday!

In Solidarity,
The Cardozo NLG Executive Team
