Please join us in supporting MLSA at the upcoming SBA meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, 3/21. We'll send you another email reminder tomorrow containing MLSA's original email about the situation at hand.

Thanks!

Dear Eduardo,

We, the Executive Board of the Cardozo National Lawyers Guild, cherish your role as a 1L SBA Senator and understand your strong feelings regarding the single word "mansplaining" in a 900+ word email authored by the leaders of MLSA -- our friends and colleagues.

That said, we feel that the importance and power of your concern about one word has been diluted by the complete lack of respect demonstrated by the Senator in question towards MLSA, BLSA, LALSA, and every affinity group that would be affected by Bill 1-17. We hope that as fellow students, leaders, and professionals, we can show each other respect in, at the very least, consulting and/or notifying the leaders of the groups that one seeks to formally dismantle at worst and fundamentally reorganize at best. In our unconditional support of our colleagues in MLSA, BLSA, LALSA and all affinity groups, we feel that the failure of this Senator to adhere to this obvious, common-sense requirement of fair dealing falls far short of the principles espoused by SBA (as specifically enumerated in the 2016-2017 SBA Platform: "Values: Promoting Community; Effective Communication; Transparency; and Inclusion.").

In other words, we continue to stand with MLSA, and we will be reminding our membership to attend the Tuesday 3/21 meeting by disseminating MLSA's original email once more.

Thank you for your concern.

Warmly,

The Executive Board of the Cardozo National Lawyers Guild

Dear MLSA Leadership,

I cherish the role your student organization plays in the Cardozo community and understand your strong feelings of opposition regarding this Bill.

That said, I feel the importance and power of your message was diluted by the derogatory remark made about a fellow student/senator "mansplaining". I hope that as fellow students, leaders, and professionals we can show each other respect while voicing our opinions. I felt that the remark made in the email you sent failed to adhere to that principal.

I know we can and will have a meaningful conversation about the merit of this Bill this upcoming week. I look forward to hearing from you at the Senate meeting.

Very Truly Yours,
