It links to the mirabella genio app. You can record while watching on your phone. There is the option to turn on the motion sensor (with low, medium and high sensitivities) but I found even the low sensitivity was quite sensitive (if pointed at window with blinds closed and something moves outside ie it detects shadows) it goes off.. I turned mine off unless I am expecting something, just personal choice. It bleeped maybe three times that day I had it turned on. It takes an automatic photo and you can see it in the messages section in the app (therefore I knew there was no one). You can also put an SD card in to record, I have put one in but havent tried recording yet.

oh yes i see what you mean. Hmmmm i could set it up at my place and then move it to her place...not sure. I was thinking of getting one for myself as well but changed my mind. Went to kmart after trying to call so many stores near me (and them not answering as its the busy silly season) but then went into closest store and they didnt have any. Then i saw another camera on ebay so i got that. Anyway your input has helped

Ended up getting this camera as well. I had bought one from ebay but when i picked it up at the post office i thought i would try the local Kmart again. There was one there so i got it. Its pretty good. Just need to work it out more so hoping youtube has some info

I have this setup via the TUYA app, as i have done with all other smart devices (Lenovo lights, Mirabella fairy lights etc). I can command Google Home to cast the camera's display to the Chromecast on my main tv ("Hey Google, show me *camera* on *Tv*")

Movement detection is VERY sensitive. Even on low i receive notifications multiple times/hour. 80% are accurate (cars/people etc, 20% are trees moving, shadows etc). All notifications are in the TUYA app and have a photo of the moment, for easy reviewing.

I could try changing the auto-recording to "Event Recording", whereby (i believe) this will only record when movement is detected. However, with the high sensitivity mentioned above, this could be almost constant anyway.

The Record function on the app will start a local recording on your phone/tablet and not on the installed TF card. You must be monitoring the recording (actively watching the phone screen), else it will stop when you move to another app etc.

Bang for buck it's pretty good and I needed one really quickly (bad neighbour) and it did the job... police have now asked for a copy of the footage. No problem, I'll just export the video file via the app. Nope! You can view the recording, but you can't do anything with it.

Ahhh, I'll take out the SD card and copy and paste the video file! Easy peasy, date stamped and all, found it no problems. Oh, it's a .data file and won't open in any of the players I've tried, even looking at dedicated .264 players.

Below is a file, pretty sure it's just me going to work on the day :) If someone has time (and a ton more skill and knowledge than I have), would you mind taking a look? Someone has suggested using a hex editor to look at the headers of the file, but that's beyond my understanding :/

I have heard back from the manufacturer and they said the files are encrypted so if someone pinches the unit, they don't have access to the footage on the SD card. Seems this isn't the case as you've been able to play the files! :)

They have updated the GUI and firmware on the units and the app now allows me to open footage on the SD card via the camera, play it back in the app and record the playback to my phone. It's clunky and a real pain in the arse to use as it hops and skips all over the place and keeps resetting to the start rather than a specific time. I've given it a lot of patience but wow, it would test the patience of a saint.

Requested info for automation settings.
Go to live view of the camera. There should be an icon at bottom left corner (might need to scroll down) it looks like an alarm. Select and adjust as necessary. Motion detection might be 20m ?? I prefer to use continued recording, disable motion detection first. There are many settings under the pen and pad edit icon top right corner on camera live view.

Hi all
Just bought one of these today and so far the pic seems excellent. My only issue is the movement detection. As some of you mentioned, it is quite sensitive and sends me lots of notifications when nothing seems to be moving (I've got it sitting in an empty room for now as I try and get to grips with it :) ). However, when I walk (jump, dance, flail around) in front of it, it doesn't detect anything and no notifications are sent. Am I missing something blatantly obvious??! I was hesitant to get one as I get frustrated with my lack of skills in this department, but seeing as everyone says how easy they are to set up, etc, I thought I should give it a go.
Thanks for any help you can give...

How are you accessing the footage? Via the app? seems very laggy and keeps dropping out for me. Would be painful to have to pull the camera apart to get to the SD card if you want the footage. Do you know if there is a way to download the footage from the SD card via the app?

Picked up one of these recently and pretty happy with it.
Set up was easy enough. Can share the camera footage with family members to view.
Wish the settings and their meanings were a little more clearer though. At the moment I'm using trial and error.

I figured out how to access the footage. You go to the app -> select your device -> select playback -> select your date -> scroll to the time you want -> click record to start and then again to stop -> get out of playback -> go to photo album and the video you created should be there

I have the anko video door bell and using the genio app on android. Is there anyway to create a shortcut to go direct to the video feed? Rather the pressing genio, pressing the device, and then waiting.

Because the visible light sensor is no longer picking up enough light to create an image, the camera can no longer detect colors. Infrared light falls just outside the visible spectrum, beyond the edge of what we can see as red, so the camera sensor can only measure the brightness of the infrared light reflecting to the camera. Bright infrared lights appear white on the video feed, and dimmer lights appear as varying shades of gray.

During normal operation, the infrared sensors and lights function properly and capture black and white footage in low light scenarios such as at nighttime or in a dark room. However, when it is not dark out and the camera is still displaying in black and white one begins to wonder, what gives?

If your camera is displaying in black and white but there seems to be ample light, then something is causing the infrared lights to stay on. There are a few different issues that can be causing this concern. Continue reading for helpful troubleshooting tips designed to help you get your cameras back to full color. If your infrared security camera is done for, fill out a quote and tell us what you need your replacement camera to do.

The issue can be caused by the camera not be receiving the correct power or communication due to a faulty cable or power supply. The easiest way to detect this issue is by unplugging the problem camera and plugging in one you know to be working properly. If that camera is having the same issue, it may be an issue with the cable or power supply. If you suspect an issue with the cable or power supply, we recommend consulting a professional.

It is also a good idea to plug the camera you are having issues with into a cable that you know to be working properly. If the camera has the same issue, then its most likely a problem with the camera. Unfortunately, not all cameras can be fixed, and sometimes the only solution is to replace the camera with a new one.
