Sliding scale $5 to $100, with a suggested donation of $15 at the door. All proceeds will go to Southern Vision Alliance!
What is SVA?
Southern Vision Alliance (SVA) supports leadership development and base-building work for social, racial, and environmental justice, along with gender equity and LGBTQIA rights in the US South. SVA is a hub for grassroots organizations across the Carolinas, providing infrastructure, capacity-building, and assistance to their work. Their member organizations include youth-centered organizations and programs such as Youth Organizing Institute, Ignite NC, Muslims for Social Justice, and The Tribe.
SVA is committed to building a strategic collaboration hub that allows directly impacted communities to take the bold actions needed to challenge and change the systems around them. This means putting the movement first and acting in partnership with frontline leaders to take on systems of oppression. Following the toppling of the confederate monument in Durham, NC, two staff members and two board members of SVA were among the organizers and freedom fighters who were arrested and targeted. These are the folks who are on the ground doing the deep organizing work to end white supremacy and build community power for and with youth, queer people, and people of color.
