On "OpenSolaris 2009.06 snv_111b X86", running rake gives:

(in /export/home/bruce/cardinal)
rake aborted!
undefined method `namespace' for main:Object
./Rakefile:341

Any ideas?

Ruby is ruby 1.8.7 (2008-06-20 patchlevel 22) [i386-solaris2.8], and
rake is 0.6.0, from the blastwave.org package repository.

That feature was added in rake 0.7.0

Try updating rake?

Your version of Rake is too old, you need to upgrade, according to this post: http://blog.inquirylabs.com/2006/02/27/need-to-upgrade-rake-for-edge-rails/ 0.7.0 should work, (I use version 0.8.7, so I can't guarantee that that version will work)
