Reminder: Umar Ibn Abdul Azeez asked for an admonition!

Ibraaheem Ibn Adham (rahimahullaah) said: It has reached me that Umar Ibn Abdul Azeez (rahimahullaah) said to Khaalid Ibn Safwaan (rahimahullaah):”admonish me and be brief”; so Khaalid said: ”O Leader of the believers! Indeed there are a people who have been deceived by Allaah’s concealment of (their sins, blameworthy affairs, shortcomings etc) and are put to trial by the good praise (received from the people), so let not the ignorance of others about your (real state of affairs) prevail over what you know about yourself. May Allaah protect us and you from becoming deceived by Allaah’s concealment of (our real state of affairs), delayed and negligent in that which Allaah has obligated and inclining towards desires.” Ibraaheem said: So he (Umar) wept and then said: ”May Allaah protect us and you from following desires.” [Hilyatul Awliyaa 8/18]

Allaah (The Most High) said: قُلْ لِعِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَا بَيْعٌ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَالٌ ”Say (O Muhammad) to ‘Ibadi (My slaves) who have believed, that they should perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend in charity out of the sustenance We have given them, secretly and openly, before the coming of a Day on which there will be neither mutual bargaining nor befriending.” [Soorah Ibraaheem: Ayah 31] That is: Say to My believing slaves whilst commanding them with that which contains the greatest wellbeing for them, that they should seize this opportunity lest they are no longer able to get hold of it; [يُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ ] ”That they should perform the prayer” outwardly (i.e. with all its pillars, obligations etc… as taught by the Messenger) and inwardly (i.e. with awareness, concentration, humility, tranquillity in their hearts etc.) [وَيُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ] ”And spend in charity out of the sustenance We have given them”; That is: From the blessings I have bestowed upon them, whether it is […]

Reminder: The Importance of Righteous Actions

Allaah (The Most High) said: فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.” [Surah Al-Kahf. Ayah 110] Allaah (The Most High) stated: إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتۡلُونَ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَأَقَامُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ سِرًّ۬ا وَعَلَانِيَةً۬ يَرۡجُونَ تِجَـٰرَةً۬ لَّن تَبُورَ لِيُوَفِّيَهُمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡ وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۚۦۤ إِنَّهُ ۥ غَفُورٌ۬ شَڪُورٌ Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah (this Qur’an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) trade-gain that will never perish. That He may pay them their wages in full, and give them (even) more, out of His Grace. Verily! He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense). Allaah (The Most High) said: وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفۡلَةٍ۬ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيہَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَـٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَـٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَـٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِى مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِى مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُ ۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِۖ قَالَ هَـٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنِۖ إِنَّهُ ۥ عَدُوٌّ۬ مُّضِلٌّ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬ قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِى فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِى فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ۥۤۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَىَّ فَلَنۡ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرً۬ا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فَأَصۡبَحَ فِى ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ خَآٮِٕفً۬ا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِى ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُ ۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُ ۥۚ قَالَ لَهُ ۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِىٌّ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬ And he (Musa) entered the city at a time of unawareness of its people, and he found there two men fighting, – one of his party (his religion – from the Children of Israel), and the other of his foes. Ali (radiyallaahu-anhu) said about the Khawaarij: They are neither Qurraa (i.e. reciters of the Qur’aan who follow it as it should be followed) nor are they a people of astute understanding in the religion. Neither are they scholars in the (science) of explanation of the Qur’aan nor are they worthy of this affair (with regards to what has already) taken place in Islaam. By Allaah! If they were to be placed in charge over your affairs, they would (perpetrate) the deeds of Khosrau (i.e. Chosroes) and Heracles amongst you. Travelling to Syria to Fight: [Shaikh Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad fears evil and corruption for you]

After the Shaikh (may Allaah preserve him) was asked about travelling to Syria to join the fighting, he said that the people of Syria are in need of du’aa, so a person should hasten to make du’aa for them. Shaikh Abu Fareehaan Jamaal al-Haarithee (may Allaah preserve him) Have you not seen today O Muslims! Indeed the khawaarij have corrupted the worldly lives of the people—those who (were) safe in their cities, towns and countries. They (i.e. the people) migrated due to them (i.e. the khawaarij). Have they (i.e. khawaarij) not caused the cutting off of the roads and the removal of security; have you not seen that the khawaarij have brought about corruption upon the Muslims in their Religion!
