Each vehicle needs a mounted antenna - magnetic or fixed - to meet propagation needs. Mounted radios with 25-50w power are best, yet a 5w HT can make most of the trip using an external antenna; spare batteries will be needed. Repeaters 146.940 and 449.500 are primary frequencies in use; simplex will be 146.40 & 447.00.
Leg 1 to be starting at Sinclair refinery at 1130 hours.
Leg 2 swaps with leg 1 at Prospect Hill about 1630 hours; leg 2 needs to be there by 1530 hours for positional setup.
Leg 1 people: Harry & Larry together and Chris and Peter in another vehicle
Leg 2 people: Dan and Dave in a vehicle with Steve in another.
Primary net control in a fixed station is Garth; in-field is Charles to pass traffic to Garth. If our repeaters are difficult to reach, Dan will attempt contact on 6m frequency 50.200 USB as a starting point then adjust as he & Garth choose.
Times are estimates.
