The NOAA SWPC forecast for this weekend is an SFI of 135, an A index of 5 and a K index of 2.  The K index has been below 2 for a few days.  Conditions for the NCJ NA CW sprint last weekend were much better than expected.

The New Jersey and Texas QSO parties start at 1400Z Saturday and continue for 12 hours.  There is a 2nd session of the Texas party starting at 1400Z Sunday and ending 6 hours later.  NJ and TX stations will send RS(T) and county.  The ROTW will send RS(T) and county/province or “DX” to NJ stations, and RS(T) and county/province/country or MM region to TX stations.

 

The Iowa QSO party uses the same schedule and exchange as does the NJ party.

 

The New Hampshire QSO party has 2 sessions, one starts at 1600Z Saturday and ends 12 hours later, the second starts at 1200Z Sunday and ends 10 hours later.  The exchanges are the same as participants in the NJ party will be using.

 

The Washington State salmon run first session starts at 1600Z Saturday and continues until 0700Z Sunday.  The second session starts at 1600Z Sunday and ends 8 hours later.  Exchanges are identical to those used in the NJ party.

The NOAA SWPC forecast for this weekend is an SFI on 170, A index of 5 on Saturday rising to 15 on Sunday, and a K index of 2 on Saturday rising to 5 on Sunday.  Conditions have been pretty good since last weekend.

The CQ WW RTTY DX contest started last evening at 0000Z Saturday and goes on until 2359Z Sunday evening.  Everybody exchanges RST with CQ Zone, but K/VE stations append their state or VE call area at the end.  See https://cqwwrtty.com/rules.htm

The YU DX CW/SSB contest starts at 1200Z Saturday and goes on for 24 hours.  YU/YT stations send RS(T) and county, the ROTW sends RS(T) with a serial number.

 

The Maine QSO party also starts at 1200Z Saturday and continues for 24 hours.  ME statins will send RS(T) and county, others will send RS(T) with state/province or “DX”.

The AWA AM QSO party starts at 2000Z Saturday and ends 28 hours later.  The exchange is name and state/province/country. 

There is probably a remote chance of working the UBA ON 6-meter band contest that starts at 0700Z Sunday and lasts 3 hours.

The NOAA SWPC forecast for this weekend is an SFI of 165, an A index of 8 and a Kp index of 3.  HF conditions have been good lately.  The W3LPL forecast for last weekend predicted very good conditions and they were.

The multi-mode Collegiate QSO party starts this evening at 0000Z Saturday and ends 48 hour later.  Power is limited to 150 watts, the only category.  Collegians will send a school identifier and RS(T).  The rest of us will send State/province/DX entity and RS(T).  

 

The California QSO party starts at 1600Z Saturday and ends at 2200Z Sunday.  Single ops are allowed 24 hours on the air with break times lasting at least 15 minutes.  CA stations will send a serial number and their county.  The rest of us will send a serial number, state/province or “DX”.  The county abbreviations may be found at CQP.Multipliers

 

The TRC DX contest begins at 0600Z Saturday and ends at 1800Z Sunday.  Single ops may only use 24 hours with breaks lasting at least one hour!  Read -- Rules – Thracian Rose Club

 

The Oceania SSB DX contest starts 0600Z Saturday and ends 24 hours later.  The exchange is RS and a serial number.

 

The Worked All Provinces of China contest begins at 0600Z and ends 24 hours later.  Their exchange is RS(T) plus 2 characters indicating the province while the rest of us will send RS(T) and serial number.

 

The Russian BPSK63 and RTTY contest begins at 1200Z Saturday and continues for 24 hours.  Russians will send RST or Q and their 2-character oblast code.  The rest of will send RST or Q and a serial number.  Find the oblast codes down the page at RDRC - Welcome to 12th RUS-WW-DIGI: Rules 2025

 

The IARU Region 2 area G (LU, CE, ZP, CX) SSB contest begins at 2200Z and ends 2 hours later.  The contest is only on 80 and 40 meters.  The exchange is RS and serial number.

 

The Peanut Power (QRP) spring runs from 2200 to the end of the day on October 5th.  This event is only on 20, 40 and 80 meters.  The exchange is RS(T), country/province/country and Peanut number or power which depends on your Peanut status.  See http://www.nogaqrp.org/PeanutPower/rules.pdf
