The initial WordPress configuration for our Ham Convention website is
copied and pasted to the bottom of this message. I emailed it to the
group this time in case anyone other than Richard wants to be included
in the email chain pertaining to the website.

Please notify me of any errors you see and let me know if you want to be
added to the chain. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to look at it Charles. You gave me an idea.

The site times out because wyohamcon.org does not yet resolve to its correct address.
Secure DNS makes it a little bit harder than simply plugging in a IPV4 address.

My best bet is to probably purchase a new starter hosting plan at $4.95 per month
and avoid all of the complexity.

So, what is the correct IP address - I can set that up in DNS, for now. At least make it resolvable.

It's slowly coming back to me Tate. We need to configure whyohamcon.org to use the
correct QTH name servers. For unknown reasons, QTH uses over a dozen name servers,
and you have to use the three they assign to you, out of the dozens available.

I'm going to follow my instincts and purchase the starter plan. Even if I pay for
it out of my own pocket.

I'll post the correct QTH name servers as soon as they provide them. (They'll be
something similar to NS1?.QTH.COM .)

Lets try it - shouldn't have to use their name servers, that breaks the whole DNS model.

Shoot me the IP and I'll set it up - if it works, cool if not - let's arrange a domain transfer so you can get 'er dun.

QTH returns 69.16.238.59 as its wyohamcon.org.crcomp.net IPV4 address.

If it doesn't work, you might try a CNAME pointing to wyohamcon.org.crcomp.net

Regardless, I don't like the .crcomp.net at the end.
Even if WordPress automagically hides it.
My instinct is to purchase a standalone startup website
for wyohamcon.org to keep it simple.

OK - it's setup, waiting for it to propagate now

wyohamcon.org resolves for me now and displays a critical WordPress error.

The error's expected because Richard still needs to migrate his
WordPress private website to our public website.

What troubles me far more is the "! Not secure" URL warning caused by an
unsigned DNSSEC:

whois wyohamcon.org

...

Name Server: dns1.registrar-servers.com
Name Server: dns2.registrar-servers.com
DNSSEC: unsigned

Tate, I'd just as soon avoid a domain transfer, if possible.

My registrar allows me to assign any name server to my domain.

Are you sure you can't change yours (dns1.registrar-servers.com
and dns2.registrar-servers.com) ?
