The Space Weather Prediction Center forecasts the 10.7 cm flux index (SFI) will be 180, the planetary Ap index will be 8 and the Kp index will be less than 3.  This is a big decrease from last week.  During NAQP SSB, some stations worked more other stations on 10 m than on the other bands!

The CQ 160 m CW contest begins Friday afternoon and ends 48 hours later.  Single ops may work only 30 hours, multi-ops 40 hours.  The exchange is RST and state.

The French REF CW contest begins around midnight Saturday morning.  French stations will send RST and a department code.  French protectorate stations send their prefix instead of a department code.  We’ll send RST and serial number.  This rule may be deprecated >> You may work no more than 28 hours in 3 or less increments of at least one hour.

The British Amateur Radio Teledata Group (BARTG) RTTY Sprint (which is not really a sprint) begins Saturday morning and runs for 24 hours.  The exchange is just a serial number.

Winter Field Day begins after lunch Saturday and runs for 24 hours.  The exchange is the number of transmitters on the site with a site code (H for home, I for indoors, O for outdoors, and M for mobile).  Read the rules for clarity on the specifics of the site codes.

There are K1USN SSTs Friday afternoon and Sunday evening; three ICWC MSTs Monday and three CWops CWTs on Wednesday.

There are more HF activities listed on ContestCalendar.com.  For all these activities you will find abbreviated details, links to log submission information and the sponsor’s rules which you should always read as rules change from year to year and the description herein and on ContestCalendar.com may be missing some key info.
