to Carbon Dioxide Removal
Hello all,
📢📢📢 A search is now open for two exciting and impactful YCNCC Postdoctoral Affiliate roles hosted by theYale UniversityDepartment of Earth & Planetary Sciences. These postdocs will help build a marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) forecasting system to support monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV). The project is led by Elizabeth Yankovsky,Noah Planavsky, andLuke Gloegeand sponsored by theBezos Earth Fund’s AI for Climate and Nature Grand Challenge. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis with a goal of hiring as early in 2026 as possible. Many thanks if you can please share widely. Position 1 will focus on tailoring a forecasting system to simulate mCDR interventions, including coupling the Oceananigans model to MARBL. The researcher will then validate the model against real-world observations.https://lnkd.in/ecGxPfB7 Position 2 will primarily focus on downscaling atmospheric data that will force an ocean model. The researcher will work closely with colleagues at NVIDIA using their CorrDiff tool to downscale atmospheric data over the ocean. The researcher must have knowledge of atmospheric science as well as a proven record in scientific applications of machine learning.https://lnkd.in/ecxSN5WJ Past LI post announcing the award and linking to background material -https://lnkd.in/eJJv_tCi
