Does anyone know anything about trainers for a Carbent? Fluid, Magnetic, brands? Any special considerations?

Stan-
I've only owned one trainer. It was a cheap magnetic one that couldn't supply much resistance. It works as a repair stand.

I own a kurt kinetic and wouldn't have any other trainer I think. You
can get them refurbed with a warranty from the kurt website. I
haven't used it on my carbent though - I always use an alu bike
instead, bit that's likely just me.

FWIW, we do not recommend using Carbents on a trainer.  It doesn't mean people don't do it, and I've never heard of any type of failure from trainer use, but Dave Karcher didn't recommend it and specifically wrote a clause about it into the owner's manual.  Realize, Dave went through and calculated all of the stresses on the bike given standard "road" riding.  Riding on a trainer torques a bike in a very different way, and these have NOT been tested or built into the design of the bike.  Just putting it out there....
