When Willie was reporting about his issue with Neg G brake and loss of
power before loss of brake pad, I realized what had happened to me. I
was bemoaning the loss of power I was experiencing with my neg g
brakes. They had performed well until a month ago.. I first thought
they were dirty but cleaning rims and pads didn't help.
After reading Willies RAAM thread on brol, I removed the swiss stop
pads and replaced them with kool stop salmon pads and amazing braking
power returns.

Thanks willie!

The problem is Neg G brakes have a very limited range of motion before
the mechanism bottoms out. So, if you want to get more brake pad
life, you need to shim the pad holder with soft aluminum washers, and
use a longer bolt as needed. If you want some washers and bolts, I
have a bunch, just drop a Smail address. Of course, do this at your
own risk!
