I picked up a MagicShine light on ebay. I just cobbled up a little
mount. It seems to work pretty well.

1. A two and one half inch of 1/2 inch pvc pipe.
2. Electrical zipp tie.
3. A 2 inch wide reflective leg strap.
4. Magicshine 900 lument light,
lithium battery rechargeable . $89

Cut a section out of the center of the pipe the size of the boom clamp
bolt section.
Place the o ring mount and light on the pipe section and place the
pipe section over the boom clamp bolt.
Use the electrical zip tie through the pipe and around the boom.
Use the velcro reflective strap and the battery velco battery sack to
secure the battery behind the derailleur post.

This position creates little foot flash, shields the line of site from
glare and is about as simple and light a system as you can create.

I have several of those Magicshine SSC P7 bike lights, but one issue
is that there is ZERO water resistance for the battery pack. I would
suggest cutting the plastic off of it and using electronic conformal
coating on the PCB and the end of the batteries.

Thanks Willie for the warning. The plastic ... I have already
punctured it. So far it has survived light rain. I asked my Radio
Shack about electronic conformal coating and got a blank look. When I
looked on line their are lots of choices. Suggestion and sources?

I will put a photo of the pieces in the files section. The light gets
mounted to the pipe section. The pipe section and light get zip tied
to the boom at the clamp.

I made a second mount using the end of a handle bar reminant.

Will work nicely. Make sure and get both side of the PCB (Printed
Circuit Board) and put lots of it on the battery positive end to fill
the lip between the positive bump and the metal can. Inspect
everything carefully for corrosion before you start, because if you
have already had it in the rain, you may already have problems.

Thanks Willie. I will have to get some.

Next, you need to make your auto magnetic halogram bicycle signal
controller available.

I love the variety of skills and experience and the willingness to
share expertise in these little niches of cyberspasce.

Thanks,

Mike
