Found my Nanostation M2 and flashed it up. Can't see any other nodes but I expected to be in a dark area and it's just sitting in my living room window, so no disappointment.

Any info on linking up tunnel style to provide coverage fill? I was hoping that it might encourage other Lakewooders to link up and maybe we can fill the gap enough that I can drop the tunnel later. I'll do a little survey and if it looks good I will throw a bullet m2 hp and omni at it for a while.

Update: I was able to get up to 81% link quality to the Green Mountain node with just 14 feet from the paint pole. Shamefully, i am limited by the fact that I don't have any CAT5 longer than five feet, so I have the laptop on a ladder as high as I can get it!

This is very encouraging though - with a 200 mW nanosation loco m2 i got great results experimenting. So, seriously, are these cheap 2.4 yagis on Amazon any good? I'll slap a Bullet on one and aim at Green Mountain if so.

Are we talking 5ghz at all yet? Was thinking of doing a PtP link on 2.4 and then putting a 5ghz node on an omni for local coverage. Worth it, or hold off? I like 5g for my home wifi so I am impressed by its performance.  If I could get a 5g backhaul I would put up an omni 2.4 access node, but not sure we have that in place yet.

Hello Matt,

Thank you for the information on the results setting up.  On the 5ghz we are using that for primarily a backbone frequency. Go ahead an call me at 530-774-7772 and we will be able to talk more about the node placement and what we can get to you.
