Spent a weekend playing with the Nanostation. At 25 feet, i was able to get 100% LQ from Green Mountain, but no data packets. Suspect my TX power is low.

I just won a best offer on a Bullet M2 HP and am going to pick up a ~20db grid antenna to try to get on.

RSSI's with the Nanostation were -74 and when I put it at the focus of an old DirecTV dish i was able to get it up to -70 or so. We are close, but i'm going to get a 'proper' setup going and try that.

Before long we should have some coverage here in Lakewood!

We're making more progress!

I nixed the Dish setup as it was proving too weird to adapt to a pole mount and set to 0 degrees. Picked up a BulletM2 HP and a 14db outdoor patch antenna. I'm getting link to Green Mountain and as low as 5% packet loss on pings to it. It's not _quite_ there - still trying to play with location and get the best signal - but we're really close.

The notion is to use the M2 and directional for the backhaul, and then put up the Nanostation as a neighborhood access node. Might help convince some others to link up.

Antenna is now at 25 feet on my real ham mast (no more wobbly paint poles) and i'm SO CLOSE. 60-100% LQ and 40-80% NLQ to green mountain. ETX is as low as 1.5 at times. I have a 25 foot tall metal building on the bearing about 200 feet away; trying to get above that as much as I can. May try 30....yeesh...not sure if my mounts can take the leverage.
