Not only are the availability data about the charging poles in Amsterdam incorrect, also they are incomplete, though the same can be said for the information in the car2go’s themselves. I followed the information in the link provided earlier, and used in in my app Carthago. It is not as fast, but it is quite reliable.
BTW: parking in front of a charging pole without actually charging is not allowed, so that chance is not that big.

Nico
Hi Gabor et alii,
I don’t think the first link you mention is an official Amsterdam city feed. It is hosted by a commerical organisation. Where did you get it?
Following the second link, this looks very much like the Essent interface I mentioned earlier, although they may have combined static and dynamic data into one call. At first sight, I have my doubts about the reliability. To use this, you would still have to de-duplicate and interpret the data.
An alternative would be this (in Dutch):
http://www.oplaadpalen.nl/w/developers/
They say it has advantages over the Essent API, but I cannot confirm.
Anyway, your conclusion is right: what car2go provides in the app and the API is unrealiable. The same goes for the information given on screen in the cars.
In the meantime, I’ll stick to my own implementation of the Essent API.
Regards,
Nico

Onderwerp: Re: Amsterdam Charging Point Data
Hi All,
A new version of the Android Application has been pushed to the Google Play. Now the app can tell how many charging spots are available at a given charging station. I believe to introduce this functionality only wise to do if it actually works.
But it does not.
Dozens of charging stations are missing. Those spots which are occupied are mark as available.
I would be interested to know why does fetching the up-to-date data cause difficulties for the Team?
Just for a reference to the existing charging points provided by Amsterdam city. It is worth to compare what car2go provides.
The green icons are the available charging points (at least 1 free spot), the blue the fully occupied ones.
And this is the source what the site is using
Probably they have an "official" feed as well.
I would be happy to hear the opinion of the Team.
