The American Printing House sent out the following communication. Feel free to share with your parents.
At the request of Ex Officio Trustee Dawn Soto, please share the information below with parents of children who are blind. Dr. Lindsay Harris at Northern Illinois University (NIU) was awarded a National Institutes of Health grant to support word learning and vocabulary development in children who are blind and research is underway. Please share widely with your social media networks and email list serves.
Participate
Earn up to $100 by participating in a vocabulary study! We are recruiting children who are blind and children who are sighted, ages 5-14.
Children who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate:
- A resident of the U.S. or Canada
- An English speaker who hears English at least 3 hours a day
- Able to access a computer with a camera, microphone and internet connection
- No hearing loss, intellectual disability, or deafblindness
In addition, children who are blind must have no more than light perception and must have been totally blind by age 1.

¡Gana hasta $100 participando en un estudio de vocabulario! Buscamos niños ciegos y videntes de entre 5 y 14 años.
Los niños que cumplan los siguientes criterios podrán participar:
- Un residente de los Estados Unidos o Canadá
- Un hablante de inglés que escuche inglés al menos tres horas al día
