Subject: DA2 Machine Now Available to BARD Users
https://www.library.ca.gov/btbl/
** Hello BTBL Patron!
------------------------------------------------------------
If you are a Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) account holder, or are ready to obtain a BARD account, and also use the current DTBM (Digital Talking Book Machine) with books on cartridge, you can now borrow the new DA2 machine which allows you to both listen to cartridges and download directly from BARD.
The DA2 is similar in size to the current model and has many of the same features with which you are already familiar. The most exciting improvement is its ability to download books directly from the BARD service using your existing wi-fi connection. With the new machine’s buttons and speech output, you can search the BARD catalog, find books, and download your choices directly to the DA2! Other new features include:
* Internal memory storage up to 26 gigabytes, so you can permanently store dozens of downloaded books on the machine for as long as you need.
* Bluetooth device capability (for example, the ability to connect a Bluetooth keyboard or headphones)
* It even has a built-in clock!
If you are interested in borrowing a DA2, please contact us by replying to this message or you may contact us via our toll-free number:
(800) 952-5666.
Please note, we are not requiring that recipients of the new DA2 return their current DTBM, but once you have grown comfortable with the DA2 machine, feel free to send your old player back to us.
Like all equipment to play our books, the DA2 is a long-term loan for the duration of your participation as a patron of BTBL. We hope you will consider borrowing the DA2!
Thank you,
California Braille & Talking Book Library Staff
